Olamide Davies Talabi is a producer, promoter, and author. The C.E.O of Lammy Inc. Production: A movie producing & event promoting company based in New Jersey, and Lammy Talent Agency: A talent agency that helps to encourage, foster, and promote individual artist’s talents in such areas as music, acting, artistry etc.
As an author and columnist with magazines, Olamide has written two successful books; “An immigrant’s A-Z guide to living the Ultimate Dream in America” and “YES WE CAN, YES WE DID: The story of President Barack Obama” . She maintains a page in African Eye magazine where she writes on tips and approaches to relationships . According to her, the views expressed in her writings are based on personal research and the experiences of real life people. Olamide also interviews Nollywood artists.
As an event planner and promoter, Olamide and her team have successfully organized the following events: Comedy Extravagance Night with Mister Latin; the movie premieres in New Jersey for Aye Sokunkun by Murphy Afolabi; Ta lo mu by Bolaji Amusan: whom is also under Lammy Inc. management in the States; Sako Jiya by Saheed Balogun. Olamide has also supported other promoters in their shows and events.
A lady with a kind and warm heart, she is on the board of the Save a Life Today Foundation (SALT), a charity foundation based in Nigeria that helps people that need assistance financially especially in the area of education, “We believe that is the best legacy for the youth” She says. The organization has representatives all over the world; she is the representative in the United States . “I am also honored to be the only woman amongst these powerful men. I accepted the offer as my little way of giving back to the society” she added.
In her own words:
My passion for modeling and fashion led me to my next project which is not small in every sense of it MISS AFRICA TRI-STATE Pageant. The goal of the event is to encourage and empower young African females in Tri – State on the importance of education, poise and self – confidence in one’s skin; it would be a night of fashion, talent, culture and display of African beauty.The eventwould be held at Wyndham hotel in New Jersey on the 11th of June, 2011.
We are expecting African celebrities, African leaders, and other notable personalities at the event. The State of New Jersey especially the City of Newark has been so supportive of our vision.
The proceeds from the event would be given to a deserving student at a high school in Africa as a form of scholarship/grants towards University education.
